ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Eloy Gómez Orfila. I am an actor, educator, and visual artist from Spain, currently based in Madrid.

 

Growing up, I was always fascinated with people. I would quietly look at the world with an infinite sense of wonder, imagining what other people's lives were like, what they thought as they stared out windows. Back then, I wanted to become a doctor, because I wanted in on the secrets of what makes us, us. Years later, not as a medical professional but as a teaching artist, I still have the same curiosity, but I have found different ways to search for answers.

I began working as an actor 7 years ago, starting my journey as an educator soon after. From my native Spain to Kentucky, North Dakota, or Michigan; I have performed and perfected my craft in a wide variety of contexts, always striving to instill audiences and students with my same fascination about the people sitting next to them in a dark auditorium or a classroom.

I am currently pursuing an MFA in Acting at Michigan State University, where I am also an instructor for a variety of courses while remaining active as a freelance photographer and designer.
